In our lives I believe that there is a place we can live in called the beautiful flux. This is a place where we can live in harmony with our environment and the objects around us. Things have an order to them, but they are not always perfect and that is a good thing. With perfection we have stagnation and life doesn’t flow as it really wants to for us. This is a place we can happily rest in, play in and invite others to share in. This is the beautiful flux.
This means that life flows through us and to us with different seasons and at different times. It means that we have cleared away the things that no longer serve us, but we are ready if we encounter things that challenge us in the future. We have an order in our homes that creates comfort, ease and beauty without being stuck in one state.

There were boxes and papers and paintbrushes, ladders and tools and more all about the house. I decided to wait until the end of our project to do any major cleaning or tidying of the area. When you are in project-mode it is important to stay in that flow and keep working on your objective so that you can finish on time.

We were taking steps to further personalize and improve our home so that we and our guests for the holidays can enjoy it. We worked all of Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday to complete these areas and we are so thrilled that we took the time and flowed through the flux to get there.
Another example of this is our front closet. This is one of the most multi-purpose spaces in our home. It had become over-run with extra coats, baseball caps, camera equipment, cleaning equipment, tote bags, winter gear , backpacks, a calendar and more. It was like 4 seasons of the year lived in one place. This space was calling to me because it is nearly the holiday season and that means that we will need a place for guest’s coats. Although we have a very small front…
